Pinspiration! Style Inspiration from Pinterest.
We are pretty much addicted to Pinterest here at Gerrards. Anyone who is familiar with the ever-growing social media platform will relate to the minutes spiralling into hours as you get sucked into Pinterest World….obviously all in the name of research!
Firstly, it is a brilliant way to assist with our forward buying, as watching what is being ‘pinned’ gives us a valuable insight into which styles people are buying into (if you check out our boards you may see a theme emerging), but even more important, it is a great tool for style inspiration, especially when a tricky new trend emerges (dungarees, boyfriend jeans, flares anyone?)
Of course, it’s not just about fashion. Food, interiors, beauty, books and cute animals all feature strongly! We also use it all the time to come up with shop interior and window display ideas. Of course there are some ‘fun’ ideas on there, but once you navigate past that you can find some real gems.
Check out our Pinterest-inspired looks below and let us know what you think.
I fell in love with this gorgeous chunky knit layered with a mannish shirt, and as soon as I saw it I thought of our beautiful Samsoe & Samsoe Nia O-neck, £134.95. To make it extra cosy for winter I’ve layered it with a super-soft Rails LA Hunter plaid shirt, £138, and in the absence of an oversized clutch in store I’ve added our best-selling Markberg Luelle clutch, £89.
Above: Another gorgeous layering look, perfect for Autumn. ‘Glow’ knit in medieval blue, £138 by Just Female; Charli vest in charcoal, £30; favourite Paige Hoxton ultra skinnies in ‘Mona’ £199; Helena quilted cross body bag, £99, Markberg.
Below: This triple denim look is inspired by one of my favourite blogs www.theyallhateus.com, which I also follow/stalk avidly on Instagram, Facebook etc! Here we have recreated the look with a quilted denim kimono -style jacket, £130 from Maison Scotch; chambray shirt £130, Denham; distressed boyfriend jeans, £110, Maison Scotch and Markberg Yasmine chain bag, £139.
